Checkmat Phoenix by Mayko & Karen is led by two highly experienced coaches. You guessed it – Mayko and Karen! Mayko Araújo and Karen Antunes are both extremely accomplished on the mats. Each has won a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Championship and have collected many other accomplishments on the way. Their focus on teaching authentic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has propelled them on top of podiums and made them world class instructors. They are always striving to put their students’ goals first, using their knowledge to make training an amazing experience for everyone at our Phoenix BJJ school.
